About GraceKelly
It took a global pandemic for the truth about flowers to surface for me; for their magic to be revealed. In the confines of our own home, with our second baby having just been born, I sought to uplift our family and add flavor to our day with little bouquets here and there. That’s how it started.
The intrinsic beauty and joy held within any one blossom was suddenly obvious, and it was enough to blow my socks off. Then I nearly bought out our local nursery of their house plants, transforming our home, the living room more closely resembling a losing game of Jumanji than anything. Just the way I like it. Then came the holidays and the opportunity to transform mantles, banisters, credenzas, front porches and more with elaborate floral art pieces. At this point, I still had my day job.
You’ve heard of a moment in time referred to as someone’s “big break”? Well, I had mine when a dear friend asked me to do a floral installation at her iconic restaurant in Berkeley, California. After that summer, it was game-on and I’ve never looked back. The team grew from one to four in the span of a few months, and what was once just my two girls’ middle names mashed together to form “GraceKelly” is now a brand symbolizing joy and love in beauty of the purist form; flowers.
One bud can transform or provoke any mood. The power and possibilities in spacemaking with blooms is endless and I see now how contagious the delight can be.
